"Quackers"

Happy Saturday! I'm elbow deep in canning AGAIN this morning. My precious hubby brought in about 50 more pounds of tomatoes!! Why, oh why, did we plant 24 plants!! I know I'll be glad when winter time comes but man a livin! I got all the orders filled for the salsa yesterday. Now I'm trying to focus on Tomato Juice and Sauce again.....Enough complainin!

I put this cutie together last night after I finished canning. The coloring really relaxes me and I got some Gamsol so I was enjoying playing with that. It really does make a difference on your colors....man! This image is "Duck Dance" from Squigglefly. It's colored with my prisma's and adhered to papers from my stash! The sentiment is from TLC Creations. Gotta go see Paullette over there.

Thanks for stopping by. I entered this in the following challenges:

Squigglefly - Tent Card
Sentimental Sundaystrong> - Funny with a sentiment

Sentimental Posting

Hi everyone! I hope today ya'll doin good and enjoying something life has to offer, whatever that may be for you. It's been in the triple digits here and man with the humidity on top of that - YIKES! I've only been in Tennessee for 5 years, I'm a Seattleite at heart so this is still hard for me.

This card is something I made last month but haven't posted yet. It was for a very special man in my life. I met him about 20 years ago and his place in my heart has grown stronger every day since. He's kind and caring. He's loves my son almost as much as I do - LOL. He's been involved in everything from my graduation from high school, to my wedding and the birth of my son. He's always there for me no matter what time of day (or night) and never makes me feel guilty or remorseful if I need help. He doesn't talk alot or show his feelings alot but I know he loves me, even when he says.....Yeah.......inside secret! Did you guess who he is yet? He's also been the best grandpa you could ever ask for. My son loves him and has 17 years of happy memories of doing stuff with grandpa, going on trips and just hanging out. This special person is my father-in-law!

So here's the card I sent him for father's day. I used an image from Digital Two For Tuesday. Cora puts up new images for free almost daily and most of them are vintage and very cute. This particular image reminded me of my son's first fishing trip with gramps and his dad over at Martha Lake fishing off an old family friends dock. The difference is my son was all bundled up in a big coat and life vest. It was definitely not the sweet sunny picture, but you get the sentiment. Several of my cards are made from images from there. I hope you enjoy it. It's not for any challenges I just wanted to add it to my blog!

Happy Thursday

Jitterbuggin (Look below for earlier posts from today)

It's time to Jitterbug! I'm just gettin this in almost at the last minute. One of these days I'll get ahead of the game. LOL This week at Jitterbuggin we had to follow the sketch, use black and white and accent with one color. OH yea, and use a punch. Man, that's alot!

I also entered this in Simon Says Stamp Challenge. We had to use dots! I do believe my background and my embossed circle help me qualify for that!

I used paper from DCWV cardstock and the glitter pack. I cut the little girl at 3" in shadow from A Child's Year, The flower was handmade. I cut the flower from Accent Essentials at 2 1/2", 2", 1 1/2" and 1", then ran them through my texture boutique and added a silvery brad. The love sentiment was cut from my Poutpourri Cartridge, then ran through my Xyron and added Glitter. The circle was cut with my punch and embossed with swiss dots.

A child's love for their pet is such a tender relationship. I'll never forget the pets I owned as a child. Still today I love animals. I'm a sucker for taking in any wandering or hurt little thang that comes my way. I took in a little kitten just over a week ago that was left to die. It didn't make it but I like to think I made those last hours a little better with warmth and love.

Unless I'm feeling really productive this should be my last post for today. Be sure to check out the two prior to this one too!

Sissy Ms. Witchy

Here's my take on a fun halloweeny card. I followed several challenges to bring it all together, listed at the bottom of this post. I used StampIt Crazy's image "Sissy". I was going to enter their challenge but I thought I had through today and they actually closed it last night. Oh well. I still love her and decided to finish her anyway. I wanted to enter Macabre Monday also but didn't have a spider so I took a pice of my spider felt border and cut one out of it. Then I attached two jewels for the head and body. I think it works. I used my notebook punch from Martha Stewart for Makeup for the weekend challenge. The paper is DCWV, of course. And I follwed the sketch from Midnight Madness, just love them. This is gettin me in the holiday spirit. I just did some research on some exploding boxes I'm going to attemp soon.

Well, I'm off. Gotta go pick some more tomatoes.. Argh, that means canning again soon. Oh well, it sure pays off during the year. Have a wonderful Wednesday and if I'm lucky I might just have one more post today.

Hugs - Jen

Challenges I entered:

Macabre Monday - Something Arachnid
Makeup For the Weekend - Use graph or notepaper
StampIt Crazy - Use a StampIt Image
Midnight Madness - Sketch

Flutterbye Beauties

Just a quick post here. I did a group of notecards for a friend who ordered some. I used my Cuttlebug on the backing for the script writing. Everything was embossed with distress inks. The paper is from my trusty Walmart's DCWV. The flowers are Prima. The butterfly images are embossed from Martha Stewart's butterfly pack of stamps. They're so pretty.

Quick question I saw a challenge called Magical Mondays but now I can't seem to find it again. If anyone knows it could you send me the link? I'd sure appreciate it.

I won the 3rd place prize over at Particraft's 1000 follower blog candy. It was an A5 stamp sheet. I chose the butterflies, I can't wait to get them to do some more flutterings. Thanks Sue!!

I have some other cards I'll be posting later today so check back. Hugs to all and thanks so much for leaving me such sweet comments. It really makes my day.

Challenges Entered:

Flutterbye Wednesday - Open Challenge

Sweet Dancing Rosie

Happy Saturday! This week at Karen's Doodles Challenge USA we had a sketch to follow. I decided to use "Dancing Rosie". Karen's Rosie images are some of my fav's! I just love her spirit. I got a new paper pack from Michael's on clearance by DCWV, callled the At Home Stack. These glittery papers are wonderful. I colored Rosie with my prisma pencils and added some ribbon from American Crafts, specialty ribbon, called Sparkle. I hope you enjoy it!

I apologize for the bad picture quality. I was having problems with my camera.

"Best Friends Forever" 2nd post for today!

Hi there! This is my second post for today. Miracle of miracles! I had nobody home and no canning or chores today so I dedicated it to getting some scrappin done. Relaxation at it's best - for me anyway. If you're looking for the Squigglefly or The Sweet Stop challenge post it's below this one.

This card is for the Kenny K's Crafty Girlz Challenge #2. They had a wopping 77 entries for their very first challenge last week and I can see why. These Kenny K girls images are so adorable. I love using them. This time I chose to use "Miss Thang", she's got some sexy class to her - LOL Again she's colored with my prisma pencils and my blender pen. I used paper from my stash again. My papers are so old nobody would care anyway, he he. The flowers are from my Swirlydoo's Kit. I'm savin those to make christms presents with. Their products are so amazing. The little leaves are actually trees cut at 2" from my cricut stamping cartridge. Slick - huch?!? And lastly the sentiment is from Word Art World again. Remember they have a ton a FREEBIE's so go check it out!

Lastly Kenny K's is offering the "Dixie Daisy" image as a freebie right now so anybody can get started and enjoy the challenge! She's pictured above.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Ya'll are the best and I really enjoy reading all your comments and criticism.

"You Make Me Smile"

I'm running out of time quickly to get my cards done this week. Where has the time gone?!? Just to let you know my recipe's are pretty short because I'm trying to work just from my "stash" of this and that to get it used up. It's working better than I intended for it too. YAY!

This cute little image is from Squigglefly called "Funny Bunny". It's supposed to be a bunny in a cabbage, I believe. But the challenge this week at Squigglefly is to use "Beautiful Blooms" so I decided to make it into a rose. I just fell in love with this adorable image when I saw it. They also have new images out today. You can check it out here.

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop for my card. Their challenge was to use the weekly sketch and add a tag somewhere. My sentiment is from Jen (great name by the way!), over at World Art World. She has a ton of freebies and some great word art to purchase as well.

I'm off. I've got a few things to do and then I'll be back to post my Kenny K's entry. WooHoo!!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Wednesday All!

I made this card for the Jitterbuggin challenge and I just realized that you were supposed to use pastels. Oops! Well I'm gonna post it anyway.

Yesterday I celebrated 19 years with my wonderful hubby and I made this card for him. It hasn't been an easy 19 years, especially with my health and all that goes with it. My son Dennis was a miracle baby, as I wasn't supposed to have any children. My hubby has stood by me and loved me and taken care of me all these years and we are more in love today than we were that first night we met. He is my everything and I'm so grateful to God that he was placed in my path. He has a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone no matter their situation. Not only was I blessed with him but I gained his strong, faithful family as well. How could it get any better than that!?! No matter what God throws our way for obstacles we remain strong in our relationship knowing that our love will always see us through no matter where we are or what we're doing.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a blessed day.

BEE Happy!

Here's a cute little card I made for the Cricut Cardz Challenge # 33, just under the wire!! I really wanna start playing around with my Cricut and cartridges much more than I do. This challenge blog is a great way to get involved in that and see what wonderful inspiration is out there. Unfortunately I only have the older cartridges but I haven't even begun to explore what all they do. I just love this cute little bee from the Stentimental's cartridge and knew I had to make something from it. I used the card feature and then added the bee and sentiment. It was still kinda boring so I blinged it up just a little bit. I hope you enjoy it! Tomorrow I have to take a break from scrappin to can some tomatoe sauce and tomatoe juice.

My hubby took some of my salsa to work today and some of his co-workers offered to pay for me to make some! I guess that is a good recipe. I have tomatoes comin out my ears at the moment so that won't be a problem! LOL

Have a wonderful evening and thank you so much to those who have taken the time to leave a little message. It really keeps me going!

Love and Hugs - Jen

Michelle's Donkey! (SSS64)

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday evening. Please forgive my picture. I was having a hard time getting a clear image and then my batteries died and I don't have any more in the house. Boo. So, I had to use what I had taken.

This is the The Sweet Stop #64 Sketch Challenge. I love this image made by MelJen Designs, which are sold through Whimsy Stamps now. It was inspired for Michelle, a fellow scrap blogger that was seriously injured in an automobile accident. If you're in our "scrap" world you know who I mean. God Bless her and all she's been through.

I'm also entering this into Charisma Cardz Challenge #28 Think Pink!! I think this one covers that!!

Lastly, my cute little felt flower qualifies me to enter Paper Makeup for the Weekend Challenge #35. Woohoo

I used paper from my summer pack in pastels. I was following a couple of challenges when I started it but OOPS only made it into this one - he he. The border is a Martha Stewart Punch (she's teaming up with Cricut, did ya hear???). The flowers and ribbon are from my scrap stash! That stash is huge with mismatched stuff but at least I'm finding uses for it.

Well have a wonderful rest of the evening. I'm off to plan out some layouts and cards.

Big Hugs to all!

Celebrate! (MMSC#62)

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz has some amazing images and they are having their first ever challenge. The first challenge is PASTELS. So I decided to use this hippy chic image called Mad Skillz. It's my girlfriends birthday today and this totally fits her. I followed the sketch over at Midnight Madness's Sketch Challenge #62 (MMSC#62). They're sketches are always fantastic. This one was really easy just lots of layering. I used the glitz pack again. That pretty flower is Prima from my Swirlydoo's kits and some random ribbon. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for taking the time to leave me some love. I could really use it this week........

Everything else for the card is used from my scrap stash! I love it when that works out. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Snowflakes in the Summer

FINALLY! I've been workin on some projects this last couple weeks and finally am able to post a card. Silly me I looked at the wrong MOJO Monday Sketch but oh well, The card is pretty anyway. So the sketch is from last week, hopefully I'll have time to do one for this week.

My card is a 5 X 5, I cut my snowflake at 3" from the Christmas Noel Cartridge. Then I ran it through my Zyron. I used Tim Holtz glimmer mists in red velvet and coffee shop. The picture doesn't do it justice how pretty the colors are and how sparkly! When that was dry I attached the gold pearls using my NEW I-Rock. Then I followed sketch using paper from the Cosmo Cricket Wonderland paper pad. The sentiments on the outside and inside were both from the paper pad as well.

Now I just want to say that I ordered my I-Rock and it didn't work. I contacted the company I bought it from and I'm happy to say that Imaginesce sent me out a replacement right away. The first two times I used it it worked. Then it stopped heating up. Thank goodness I hadn't thrown out the other one because I was able to replace the heat core from the one that wouldn't turn on. So now (at least for the time being) I have a working I-Rock tool. Has anybody else ran across this problem? I'm gonna contact Imaginesce and let them know. I enjoy using it I'm just very disappointed in the workmanship of it.

Ok, enough on that. I'm off to make salsa shortly. Our first ripe tomatoes are ready in the garden which means it back to canning!! I just finished 8 cases of Kosher Dill Pickles and two cases of Sweet Pickle Relish. It's hard work but so rewarding! Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some love!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Cricut Cardz #32 - Christmas Card with your Cricut

Squigglefly #57 - Christmas Card

Rosie D's #75 - Use Burgundy, Pink and Cream

Candy Candy Candy

I hope everyone is doing great on this happy Thursday! I've been busy with company over the holiday and doing research the last week or so. And on top of all that my garden is coming due so I've been elbow deep in pickles! LOL So with all that I haven't had much time to scrap or make cards. But one thing I have come across is some GREAT CANDY GIVEAWAYS. I've listed them all on my sidebar. Take a minute to go check them out and while your there look at all the wonderful cards and inspiration they have to share with you. Sometimes just stopping in for a chance at candy will bring you a new friend you never knew you needed. It's happened to me several times!! I noticed a few of their follower buttons weren't working, maybe you'll have better luck. I do have a few things in the works so watch for me to pop back on!

Much love to all!
Ms. Jen
