Curiosity killed the Cat - Oh darn!

With the Simply Betty blog hop going on I decided to use "Betty1" for my image today. She's just so cute and her adorable little cat is the perfect sidekick for my card. There was a color challenge and I did end up using black but I figured it was okay since the DT's did too. (Hope so!) I got a box of goodies in the mail today from one of my very first blog friends and it was chock full of goodies. The embellishments and punch I used were from there. The wordart is from Bethany over at Elegant WordArt 2. Bethany's been through some hard ties recently and could use an uplifting message if you have time to stop by. She offers her wordart for free every day and is so giving of herself. Sometimes we all need a little word of encouragement.

Nothin special today just wanted to pop in and say hi and post this. After yesterday's marathon I think I needed a break. LOL

Have a wonderful evening!

Raindrop Kisses

Post number 4 for today. I guess I could've waited on the last post. I didn't realize it was a two week challenge. ARgh.

This is my last post for today. It's been a busy one! LOL I used Mo's "Baby Fairy Ayana". I actually colored her awhile back and just hadn't used her yet. These papers in my Swirlydoo Kit were perfect. I made my own flowers using scraps of leftover paper. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday. Just beautiful. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. I added lotsa sparkle to her wings and dress!

Thanks and have a wonderful evening!

Your Special Day

This is post number 3 for today. Dang I didn't realize I'd have to do them all today. I'm gonna keep these last two short and sweet!

I used Mo's Digital Pencil Too's image "Bride and Groom", colored with Prisma's and designed with my Swirlydoo's Kit. I followed the MOJO Monday sketch and did it all in white for Colour Create.

Fall Leaves and Announcement!!

Here's my second post for today. This image is "Acorns" and it's from the Digi Doodle Shop. It's that time of year when the trees start changing and the temperature drops and we can smell that wonderful fall aroma. We're FINALLY experiencing some cooler weather. We haven't been over 80 in the last couple days and it's been so nice.
I colored it with my Prisma's. The design paper is from my Swirlydoo kit. I embossed the cardstock with some vines and added some green ribbon to match the leaves. Then I cut some leaves to add to my Prisma petals and finished it off with some green gems. I really loved this sketch. It was very easy to do and I love the finished look of it.
Now for my BIG news! I was accepted on the Hodge Podge Design Team! My first design team EVER! I'm so excited. I know the work of several of the other DT's as well and you are in for a treat. The challenges are starting on October 7th here. Pop over and get some images so you're ready to play! Here's the shop. I've been working on some cards, but you'll have to wait to see them! He He He
Thanks!

Under the Sea

I have been fond of Michelle Perkett images ever since I saw my blogger friend Debbie use them. She is so creative with them I just fell in love. So this is my very first attempt at one of her gorgeous girls. I decided since there was an Under the Sea challenge going on at Magical Mondays that I'd use "Princess Oceana" and combine them. Lollipop and Michelle's both wanted bling and sparkle, I hope I accomplished that too.

I used my Prisma blues to color her hair and threw in a bit of green. Reminded me of seaweed. There's a fab tutorial by Marion here that I followed. Then I used my Viva Pearl Pen on the "bubbles" and finished those off with Glossy Accents for a 3D look. Then I mounted her on this fab Basic Grey paper. Doesn't it look like fish scales?!! For the final touches I got out My Creative Scrapbook Kit and found some Prima's and gems that went perfect.

I really hope you like her. Thanks for stoppin by!

"Dream"

Happy Tuesday Afternoon!

Just a quickie post! I used Tiddly Winks' "Fairy Fae Catches a Star" image today. I used a combination of Prisma browns and pinks to color this cute girl. Then I added Diamond Glaze and some gold glitter to her wings. I found some matching Prisma flowers and the ribbon and lace are leftover scraps from another project. The paper is Basic Grey. I embossed my cardstock for a base.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Hugs - Jen

Birthday Wishes for Kimmie!

It's Friday evening here and it's just balmy outside. 9:30 at night and I'm sweatin from the humidity. As much as I know I'll long for these days in a couple months I sure wish a few were here now.

It's almost my niece's birthday - Yay! This is the card I decided to make for her to go along with her bookmarks and her gift. I really adore these Tiddly Ink images. I used "Pinky". My papers are fancy pants and they're from My Creative Scrapbook kit.
I'm hoping to get this posted in time for The Sweet Stop challenge since I used their sketch. So I'll leave you tonight with wishes for sweet dreams and a wonderful weekend.
Hugs - Jen

Christmas Wishes

Good morning and a happy Thursday to all! Today I have a Christmas card (yes, I'm frantically trying to get those done too!). This is "lantern girl" from Whiff of Joy. I just love the flow of her dress in this image. It would great to paper piece too, but I haven't attempted that technique quite yet. I colored her with my prisma's. Honestly I only have the small bos so I have to use my crayola and rose art too. They don't blend as nicely but they're gettin the job done in a pinch. They helped on this image anyway. I added a touch of glossy accents to her lantern. I found some snowflake eyelets which I added a touch of Pearl Pen to the middles. I used papers from my Swirly Kit and dristressed all the edges. I put a touch of lace for some softness and added a cream prima flower.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my creation!

Mr. Straw

Today I have a cute image from Digital Delights by Louby Lou called "Mr. Straw". He's the September freebie and I decided to whip up a cute halloweenie card with him. He's colored with my prisma's. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers. My papers are from DCWV Autumn pack. I added some great ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and topped it off with some flowers and a button from my stash. I hope you like it.

Free Spirit

Good morning and a happy Sunday to all. I hope you are enjoying this sunrise. It's not hot yet this morning and so nice. We enjoyed a couple days of rain that we desperately needed.

I have for you this morning a card I like to refer to as "Free Spirit". It doesn't have a sentiment yet because my printer ran out of ink last night. I used the sweet image from Mo's called "Sweet Fairy Puddle". I think this image just eminates the freedom and spirit of a child. That frog isn't the cutest thing but paired with that cute fairy how could you not love it.

I followed the sketch at MOJO Monday. I framed my image with frame3 from the sentimentals cartridge. I cuttlebugged the brown cardstock and the tag, which I added a prima flower to. My patterned papers and prima flower are from my Swirlydoo's kit as well as the cardstock this time. I added a few sparkles for a little pop and there you have it.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Christ's Love

Here's post of some ideas I'm playing around with for Christmas cards. I've used the sentiment from Doodle Pantry. I made the flower with prima flowers and added a prima mini rose to the center. I really like the use of pink's for Christmas. Just something a little different. I would like to know what you recomment adding to it. I'm not sure if I should doodle or something around the edges of the layers. I'm open to criticism here.........

Recipe:

Paper - Cosmo Cricket "Fleuriste"

Ribbon - Walmart

Flowers - Prima

Retirement

I actually colored this image from Mo's Digital Pencil Too a long time ago. I just never felt I had the right card to make with it yet. But now I do! I found this paper in my K&Company, Marcella paper pack. I followed the sketch at The Sweet Stop and then made the card for DP2 Digital Challenge. It's Paola's first week hosting in her new DT position at Mo's and I am so excited for her!! She's been a wonderful blogging friend and I wish her the best over there. I decided to throw some green in the mix to help balance out my picture. I noticed some of the DT's did too so hopefully it's okay. I made the flower with miscellaneous pieces from my scrap bin. I think it matches pretty darn good considering.

Well this is my 3rd post for today so I'm gonna go get some of my wifey and mom duties taken care of. See ya'll tomorrow!

Love and peace!

Jen

Rock-A-By Baby Lullabye

This is my second post for today. I made this special little card for a friend who just had a new baby boy. I always think of the Rock-a-Bye Baby song when I use this image. As you've probably noticed it's my go to image for newborn cards. I just love it. It's by MelJen's called "Cuddle Cloud Baby". All papers are from DCWV Summer Pack. Embellishments are from that baby pack I got from Colorbok for $1.00. Still makin cards from it too! Woohoo. I'm entering this one into the Charisma Cardz Challenge this week.

***I just looked and apparently they've already closed the challenge, but that's okay. I had fun with it anyway!

Have a great afternoon!
Jen

Another Bookmark!

I made another bookmark for my niece! This one is a corner bookmark. I've never even seen these before. I followed the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers here. All that Scraps is having a challenge for it this week so if you have stamps from their store you can play along. I don't but I really liked it and MelJen's is having a stripes challenge so I just incorporated the two. I'm using "Sunflower Friend" image from there. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the papers are from DCWV's Summer pack. Let me know if you make one I'd love to check it out!

Hugs - Jen

"Top Tip Tuesday"

There's a new blog in town called "Top Tip Tuesday". They have a wonderful tip on how to make doily flowers this week. Each week they will share a new tip and have prizes too. Here's the rules:

To be in with a chance to win one of these fabulous prizes all you have to do is:

Create a new blog post on your blog with your Top Tip
Put a direct link to that post using InLinkz below
Make sure there is a link on your post to www.toptiptuesday.blogspot.com

So my Top Tip is adding sparkle to your digi images. Print out your image and as soon as it comes out of the printer add your embossing powder and some glitter and do a quick emboss. You have to work fast because printer ink does dry quickly. I usually get my stuff out and ready to go before I hit print. It's just a little something extra to really make those digi images "Pop".

So now it's your turn. Head over to Top Tip Tuesday and enter your tip. There's some great prizes up for grabs this week!

Happy Day!
Jen

With Sympathy

For tonight's card I decided to try out a technique called Eboss Resist. I noticed that several bloggers were talking about it this week and wanted to check it out. Gina K has a wonderful tutorial over at StampTV. Her tutorials are very detailed and they all follow the same basic outline so you always know what to expect.

So for my card I used the clear butterfly stamp set from Martha Stewart. Then I embossed it and colored it with Distress Inks, Broken China, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo. I really wanted this card to be clean and simple and let the sentiment and butterfly picture do all the talking. I added some ribbon from my scrap bucket. Then I stamped the sentiment, found at Our Daily Bread on the Get Well set, onto the tag.

Thank you so much for looking. Hopefully I'll see ya tomorrow!

Dixie Daisy Rocks It!

Kenny K has a new Rock Squad image group that was just released. They are having a blog hop here with tons of cool candy up for grabs. You should go check it out. The challenge this week is Music to welcome the new images. They even have Tommy "Leen", Stevie "Thunder", Tracy "Chapstamp", and Tori "Famous". They're really good! The DT really did a great job showcasing them.

So I used my "Dixie Daisy" and rocked her up a bit. I had this grunge pack I got awhile back and decided it would be perfect for this challenge. I followed the sketch at The Sweet Stop, it was a pretty easy and fun one. I used my I-Rock to add some sparkle to the flourishes I stamped. I really should have cuttlebugged it first, but didn't think of it till now. The ribbon is from my scraps, but the rest is from that pack.

Hope you enjoy what's left of "hump" day.
Hugs - Jen

Birthday Wishes for Mattie

Our dear friends little girl, Mattie, turns one today. It's even more special because she was born on my hubby's birthday. I made this cute little card for her. The cute little fairy is from Paper Makeup Stamps. I got her in my Celestial Kit. I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday and used paper from my scrap bin again. I added a doily to back my image. Used my cuttlebug on the plain white cardstock and added a cute little Making Memories bow and a prima flower. I hope you enjoy it. The picture really doesn't do it justice, I'm disappointed in that.

Have a fantastic day!
