Monochromatic Apples

Good morning and Happy Hump Day! I made my first attempt at a monochromatic card today. I think they're absolutely gorgeous when done the right way. Now this one isn't on that level, just a fun one. I hope to play with this technique again soon.

I used MelJen's "Little Apple Worms". Colored with my Prisma's. I used these gorgeous papers from Cosmo Cricket's, Double Deck of Girl Friday and Everafter. I followed the sketch from Get Sketchy . I pick my sketches based on which one I think will fit the overall card and image I'm using. It's a pretty simple card really, not a lot of fluff and bling.

I'm brand new to spellbinders and would really appreciate any tips anyone has to offer me. When I ran it through my cuttlebug the first time and the cutting pad made that sound I almost screamed! Is it supposed to make an impring of your spellbinder? I followed the directions. I also found directions for using the sizzix templates in my cuttlebug if anyone is interested. Just let me know.

Your comments mean the world to me, thanks for taking the time to leave one!

  5. When I used a Cuttle Bug, mine made that same loud, cracking sound. Freaked me out the first few times.

  6. Jen this is so cute. I love the apple with the worm, it's so fun. Colored beautifully!! I have used some spellbinders in my bigshot and it took me a while to figure out how to use them. Did it cut alright? I hope you figure it out, I do like their dies. Have a great rest of the week:)
