Brand New Challenge Site!

It's finally here!

This is our very first challenge here at the Hodge Podge Shop. We are so excited! This week we want to see your Distressed creations. You can tear it, ink it, stain it...distress it any way you want.
The lucky, randomly chosen winner will win 2 images from the Hodge Podge Shop store. We have some awesome imagesfrom two terrific artists! And more being added all the time.
We just ask that your creation include a Hodge Podge Shop image. There are some freebies in our group at Paper Craft Planet and Crafters Digital Artist Center.

For my card I chose an image by Michael. His images are realistic and more country or architectual inspired. They're fabulous! A very dear friend of my husbands lost his mother this week. When I sat down to put together a card Michael's image came to mind and it all just fell together. This image was perfect for the sentiment I wanted to express.

The sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps and it's the "When There's Nothing Left to Say" set. Mine says "Remember" on the front and then inside it says "May the Sweet Memories you Hold in Your Heart Carry you Through This Difficult Time". Kinda sad for my first DT card, I know, but it was just so perfect.

Thanks for stoppin!!

Birthday Wishes for Mattie

Our dear friends little girl, Mattie, turns one today. It's even more special because she was born on my hubby's birthday. I made this cute little card for her. The cute little fairy is from Paper Makeup Stamps. I got her in my Celestial Kit. I followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday and used paper from my scrap bin again. I added a doily to back my image. Used my cuttlebug on the plain white cardstock and added a cute little Making Memories bow and a prima flower. I hope you enjoy it. The picture really doesn't do it justice, I'm disappointed in that.

Have a fantastic day!
Jen

Paper Makeup Kits

Just a quickie this morning. I was so excited when I logged on to Squigglefly and saw that I had won the challenge for the week! What a great feeling to start off your day!

I got one of the kits from Paper Makeup Stamps awhile back. It's called "Celestial Possibilities". You can purchase it here. I really love it. I was going to join the challenge this week but didn't get done in time. Go figure! Not like I EVER do that! LOL So here are two cards I made with the kit. I'm also entering this into the new challenge blog at Simon Says Stamp and Show. The challenge is Things with Wings. So my little card set fits into it quite nicely, if I don't say so myself.

I have two hummingbird feeders right outside my window here and this morning I've been watching a total of 8 hummers squawking with each other for a place to sit. Mind you there's enough for all of them but they want each others spot! Too funny.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Sissy Ms. Witchy

Here's my take on a fun halloweeny card. I followed several challenges to bring it all together, listed at the bottom of this post. I used StampIt Crazy's image "Sissy". I was going to enter their challenge but I thought I had through today and they actually closed it last night. Oh well. I still love her and decided to finish her anyway. I wanted to enter Macabre Monday also but didn't have a spider so I took a pice of my spider felt border and cut one out of it. Then I attached two jewels for the head and body. I think it works. I used my notebook punch from Martha Stewart for Makeup for the weekend challenge. The paper is DCWV, of course. And I follwed the sketch from Midnight Madness, just love them. This is gettin me in the holiday spirit. I just did some research on some exploding boxes I'm going to attemp soon.

Well, I'm off. Gotta go pick some more tomatoes.. Argh, that means canning again soon. Oh well, it sure pays off during the year. Have a wonderful Wednesday and if I'm lucky I might just have one more post today.

Hugs - Jen

Challenges I entered:

Macabre Monday - Something Arachnid
Makeup For the Weekend - Use graph or notepaper
StampIt Crazy - Use a StampIt Image
Midnight Madness - Sketch

Michelle's Donkey! (SSS64)

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday evening. Please forgive my picture. I was having a hard time getting a clear image and then my batteries died and I don't have any more in the house. Boo. So, I had to use what I had taken.

This is the The Sweet Stop #64 Sketch Challenge. I love this image made by MelJen Designs, which are sold through Whimsy Stamps now. It was inspired for Michelle, a fellow scrap blogger that was seriously injured in an automobile accident. If you're in our "scrap" world you know who I mean. God Bless her and all she's been through.

I'm also entering this into Charisma Cardz Challenge #28 Think Pink!! I think this one covers that!!

Lastly, my cute little felt flower qualifies me to enter Paper Makeup for the Weekend Challenge #35. Woohoo

I used paper from my summer pack in pastels. I was following a couple of challenges when I started it but OOPS only made it into this one - he he. The border is a Martha Stewart Punch (she's teaming up with Cricut, did ya hear???). The flowers and ribbon are from my scrap stash! That stash is huge with mismatched stuff but at least I'm finding uses for it.

Well have a wonderful rest of the evening. I'm off to plan out some layouts and cards.

Big Hugs to all!
Jen

Congratulations on New Baby Card

I'm doing a quick post before I head off to bed. This is my entry for MOJO 144, and Paper Makeup Stamps #31 challenges this week. I was going to enter it in another challenge that wanted you to use yellow as your theme, but I realized I used the wrong image for that one. But that's where the idea of the colors came from. The paper is from K&Company's Brockfield Paper Pad. I used Momento ink in cocoa to distress all the edges. My image was a freebie from MelJen's Designs. I just love their images! I colored it with my prismacolors, of course. Hope you enjoy it!

Peace and Love - Jen
